Gymnastics is Fitness and Fitness is Fun!

Gymnastics is a part of our human nature. The learning of gymnastics skills can help to build a healthy foundation for life. Fitness, confidence, self control, concentration and self-esteem are among the by products of participating in such a broad based physical education activity. In addition to the ability to perform gymnastics skills, routines, and even participate in higher levels in competition and team performance, gymnastics provides building blocks to enhance participation in other sports. Of course, the very best part may actually be that the skills are just plain FUN!
GymTricks GYMNASTICS is located in the city of Whitney on FM 933 North just south of the High School, in the Whitney Plaza next to Dollar General.

The gym is a 3750 square foot facility equipped with a 24' x 48' spring tumbling floor, a 30' air floor for elementary to advanced tumbling, a 30' Tumbl-Trak tumbling trampoline, balance beams, uneven bars, rings, climbing rope, vaulting station, trainer trampoline, back handspring trainers and numerous other specialized pre school equipment and training apparatus. We have a parent reception/waiting area with an observation window and the gym is comfortably air conditioned.

There are different programs for different age groups and ability levels with special programming and lessons for toddlers and pre school age children. The focus at GymTricks is to expose children of different ages and ability levels to the joy of gymnastics movement as they strive to achieve a higher level of coordination, athletic fitness, concentration and cooperation. Having fun is part of our learning equation and so we try to mix the skill and the thrill with a healthy dose of fun!

All of the staff are safety accredited by Gym Cert and the curriculum will follow USA Gymnastics Levels 1-4 with modifications to suit every age and ability level. The majority of the students will participate in class once per week. We have a competition program - please see "Special Program" page for further information.
Student to teacher class ratios are 6 or 7 to 1 and students are grouped according to age and ability level.

Every class and every student will get the very best attention and quality of instruction and experience that we can offer. Parents are welcome to visit and observe. Please visit our web pages on the individual programs for more specific information, pricing and other special offerings.

ABOUT THE OWNERS: Wally and Jan Eyman have been involved in gymnastics as collegiate athletes for Keene State College and Eastern Illinois University, gymnastics school owners and coaches, and collegiate coaches. Both have degrees in physical education. Wally has illustrated the USA Gymnastics National routines and most recently the Junior Olympic Code of Points, the Gymnastics Bible. He is also the equipment engineer and designer for GYM-TRIX, his gymnastics equipment company. Jan is a National Safety Instructor for USA Gymnastics and a National Level judge and served two terms as the USA Gymnastics Texas State Chairman. Former owners of The American School of Gymnastics in Keene, New Hampshire, and Coaches for NCAA Division II Keene State College, the Eymans have valuable experience with gymnastics programs and students of all ages and ability levels. Moving from New Hampshire to Texas in 1991 they promised their new Whitney friends that they would consider another gymnastics school as soon as their own children were grown and if Whitney became large enough. In 2008 it was time. Wally decided to build the gym immediately next door to their existing Sign Company, Signature Signs, which allows them to be very efficient with their time between the two businesses. Hiring great staff was imperative and when Alisha Roberts was only one month into her contract they both knew that she was to be a tremendous asset to the program. This year, Wally, Alisha and Jan welcome back Jon Eyman, Tara Eyman, Dillon Johnson and introduce Cathy Albright as a new instructor for the program. This year they have class spaces for over 200 students and The Eymans are looking forward to another great year with thanks to Whitney, Hillsboro, and the many surrounding communities for their support.
